Well, the water pump packing has started leaking badly. Unfortunately, I had to remove the radiator to get access to the water pump. 
Those style pumps use an asbestos string for a seal, then the string must be lubed with an appropriate water pump grease. Very similar to pre - S/N 2500 Model T Fords.
PM me if you need the grease. I don’t have any more asbestos string.
Thanks for the offer, I already have the correct packing and grease. One thing another Flanders owner warned me about is that the pump turns in the direction to loosen the packing nut. He sent me a picture of a locking tab that he rigged up on his car to prevent the packing nut from unscrewing itself.
