I suggest using a lock washer on the back nut on the front of the radius rods. Those nuts have a tendency to work loose, and allow the radius rod threads to get damaged. Been there, and seen what happens. I also like the use the original style fiber thrust washer in the Ruckstell. I only wish someone would make them!

I’m working on a small drum Ruckstell,I have a early and a late shifter,is there an avantage using one over the other? Thanks

The late style shifter is sturdier. That being said the early style works just fine and if yours is in good shape you ought to just use it.

Thanks Royce!

The early shifter gets the lever away from your leg.
