I recently bought a 1916. I pulled out of my driveway then it quit moving. No low, high, reverse or foot brake. I jacked it up and the back wheels do turn when I put it in gear. If I press reverse, I can see things spinning but the wheels don’t turn. Thoughts? Thank you.
With the car shut off and the rear of the car jacked up, try pulling each rear wheel in and out. If you have significant play, you likely have a failed babbit hrust bushing, allowing the ring gear to disengage from the pinion. Removal and rebuild of the rear axle would be in order. DG79.html
Similar happening to me, motoring into driveway, no brakes, finally came to halt in grass. No low, or reverse, jacked up and could turn a wheel manually in high , found that pinion gear spun on driveshaft, from error in build, missing key. Likely rear axle issue in yours.
