A family with their Ford Touring

A family proud of their Ford in a photograph taken near Mt. Olivet, Robertson County, KY, exact year and date unknown. Given the status of highways of the day the T Model looks to be relatively new. There’s even a bit of a shine still to be seen on the radiator shell.

My money says the condition of the top and its unique rear windows, the non-demountables, the presence of cowl lamps, and perhaps the folk’s clothing will enable a viewer to date the Ford and hence the photo with some accuracy.

As light as the young lady seated on the flivver’s fender was, I wonder how many of today’s machines would be up to the job.

Appears to be a 1921 Kentucky plate on the car.

Can’t disagree. Here’s my 1919 KY that obviously has been restored. Thanks for checking in.

Not clear enough to really read it but seems to be “1921” by elimination. Six digit numbers first appear in 1921 and the 1922 and 23 have a light backgrounds. I noticed the font changed in 1924 so sort of backed into it. Enjoy looking at the old photos. Thanks for posting.

The top sockets are oval which would make it a 1917. 1918 and newer cars had rectangular sockets.
