People are still trying to improve on Ford’s timer:
What is an Ideal timer?
Its’s a direct replacement for the stock timer
Provides reliable and consistent coil activation
Precisely synchronized with piston position
Immune to timing cover misalignment
Solid electrical contact without:
Contact bounce
Wiper skip
Contact wear
Destructive contact arcing
Maintenance Free
Never wears out

If it costs less than an original timer let’s see it, however from my experience there’s no way to improve on the performance of a good original Ford roller timer. Note that I am not advocating the use of any currently produced timer - I am talking only about the Ford roller timer, which provides awesome performance.
