Hi, I am new to Model T’s. This is a 1925 Model T for sale, but the messy blue smearing of ATV in various places (other than near radiator) suggests to me (as a newbie) that it may covering up leaks and other issues. Of course, it could just be the person forgot to not wipe things off after a repair. Do these pictures of the engine raise any red flags or at least raise some questions in your mind to ask the seller? Thank you to anyone lending your knowledge and experience in this.
Looks pretty good to me, just be aware that Model Ts didn’t come from Ford with a water pump.
A prior owner may have added the pump to “fix” an overheating problem caused by a worn out radiator or restricted cooling passages. If you’re a stickler for originality, you can try removing the water pump, clean out the block and radiator passages, and try running the car without the water pump to see how it does.
