Trying to remove gas tank . What’s steps and how much of the car do I need to take apart .
1926 4 door tour
Well the steering column needs to be removed first. After that it is pretty easy, just a matter of disconnecting the ignition switch and the fuel line.
The factory shop manual goes into excruciating detail on it with step - by - step instructions.
I’m curious, is the Touring and the Tudor so different that you have to remove the steering wheel? I did the tank in my 26 Tudor and didn’t have to remove the steering wheel.
I have only done it on a roadster. Never done it on a sedan. In the roadster we removed the steering column - the steering wheel was part of that that we did not touch.
My mistake, I said steering wheel and meant column. I did not have to remove the column to get the tank out of the cowl. That’s why I was wondering what the difference is between a '26 Tudor and a '26 Touring. I have not had the privilege to see a '26 Touring.
