When I first started the car about 1 month ago. It shut off when I switched it to Magneto. Today after getting the starter issue fixed I started the car. It ran on Magneto for about 45 secs. Than started bucking and misfiring. Any thoughts from anyone

The new ones are not made properly. Old original ones can be rebuilt. They have proper wire size and turns and magnets in them. The wood boxes can be repaired, restored or replaced.
