Kingston 6 ball float replacement

I got this Kingston 6 ball that came with the float but it isn’t attached to the arm. I’m going to make a new float from the modern material because I suspect this is shellac coating on a cork float which breaks down in ethanol.
It appears that I need to remove the cage/housing that holds the balls. How do I go about doing this? Does it unscrew somehow? I suppose it does but I don’t see a place for a wrench or any kind of tool and don’t want to damage anything.
