I have what I believe is a Bosch distributor. Is anyone familiar with the Texas T-3161 distributor. Is it hard to switch them out. And what is your opinion on the distributor.
Texas T parts is long out of business. The distributor they sold was a Chinese knockoff of the Bosch VW style distributor adapted to bolt on a Model T ford. The distributors were OK if the bevel gears are greased regularly. The coils supplied with them are very unreliable. I watched one guy use four of them in one day at a Texas T Party to go about 100 miles. The factory Bosch coils made in Germany are far superior and can be found on eBay in both 6V and 12 V. If I had to use a Texas T parts distributor I would get one of those.
