Old tires with cracks in the walls

I have a few old tires that have cracks. I presume they would be of no use but I thought I would ask before discarding them.

I put new tubes in mine and been driving for 3 years.

That seems like a solution. I remember years ago they put shoes into tires that were cracking. I have some old shoes but they have hardened up so are pretty well useless. I will give new tubes a try. Thanks for the reply.
