my 26 T coupe trunk lock has broken in locked position. the key won’t engage. can i jimmy it? how?
I had a similar dilemma with our '27.. Taking a long shot I borrowed 2 keys from a T friend and the first one I tried unlocked the otherwise seemingly locked lock. While the lid was up I removed the hasp part of the lock that is secured with screws lest the lock would act up again. I figure if someone wanted into the trunk the lock would only be a mild deterrent while damage was being done to gain entry. Good luck in any eventuality.
Thanx, Tom. I eventually had to remove the panels behind the seats to gain access to the trunk hinges, loosen them; gaining enough movement to lift the lid up and out of the latch. I discovered that the guide post that the key fits onto, had broken off; preventing the key from proper operation. At this point I am not sure how to ensure that won’t happen again.
