Radiator flushing question

I need to flush the radiator on our 21 touring. I read a good way to do that is to drain the radiator, dump two gallons of vinegar or one gallon vinegar and water to fill into the radiator, let it sit overnight, drain, flush out and fill with 50/50 coolant and water.

Should I run the car after I put the vinegar in, or just let it sit in the radiator and allow it to soften up the rust scale?

Thanks,

Neal

I ran mine. Only for a little bit, though. Enough to warm it up, not get it hot. Lots of gunk came out the next day. I flushed it a good long time too. 3 or 4 fills and drains.

It probably wouldn’t hurt to run it some. It’s amazing how much crud comes out every time I do this.
