Please don’t put solid brass rods in the column. #1 it’s not original, and #2 you have it apart far enough now not to restore what is there. Another note, find another car that still has the original rivets holding the quadrant in place, and mike the size. Nothing looks worse than the wrong size heads on those rivets.

Too late Larry. This one already had 3/16" rivets when it was “restored” by someone else.
