Spider Fit in Differential Case

Is there a good way to tighten up the fit of a spider in the differential case? What happens if I put it together with a small amount of play in it?

I guess that you could machine the differential to accept bushings. Then you would need to make a custom bushing. Something like that would take all day for me. I would try to find a better case. They are generally not hard to find and cheap to buy.
